The Turchin Company began its work in South Florida in 1927, and over the following decades built a well-deserved reputation as one of the premiere development companies in the state.

John Turchin, a third generation member of the family owned company, first arrived to the High Country in North Carolina in 1970 for a summer vacation. Immediately falling in love with the area, Turchin’s commitment to the mountains grew over time, leading him to the creation of The Lodges at Eagles Nest.

Turchin is a man of many titles and accomplishments but accolades and awards are not what keep this dynamic visionary going. Rather, his fuel is an innate passion for expressing art through architecture. This distinctive approach combined with years of expertise is the force behind his unique concept in community building.

Sensitive to the surrounding environment, and adamant about preserving the magic that attracted him to the area, Eagles Nest was built to conserve the integrity of its natural setting. This concept coupled with his firm belief that we do not just create structures, but instead build entire lifestyles, grants the discerning homeowner a greater quality of life that adds a true measurable value to their investment.

John, his wife Susan and their children Ashley and Jordan, have a deep-rooted commitment to the growth and well-being of their home in the High Country. They strive to continue their family’s well-known and highly regarded philanthropic work and community involvement by helping to raise funds for countless local and regional causes.
